Mario Molina, Nobel Laureate

The story of Mario Molina, the first Mexican-born Nobel Laureate, is a life lesson in scientific and personal tenacity, and also of the critical role of scientific research in mitigating environmental disaster. In discovering that CFCs can destroy ozone in the stratosphere, he called the world’s attention to a serious danger, and the world responded. Never more than now do we need to follow that example, to once again save us from ourselves.
